The Université catholique de Louvain is looking for a full-time (tenured track or tenured) specialist in  Communication (Organizational Communication – Web Communication)

The successful candidate will carry out research in the field of organizational communication within the Center of Research of Communication (RECOM). RECOM is part of the Institute of Language and Communication (IL&C) that favors synergies among scientists in communication and linguistic sciences. Specifically, s/he will show strong expertise in the analysis of communications’ evolution in relation to Web technologies.

The successful candidate will teach bachelor courses (e.g., Introduction to communication theory) and master courses related to Web Communication (day classes as well as evening classes) primarily on the site of Mons, and also on the site of Louvain-La-Neuve.

The successful candidate will have teaching assignments in the above-mentioned field within the various degree programs organized by the Faculty.
Special qualifications (other than those listed in the general conditions below) :
The successful candidate will develop an expertise in the field of organizational communication, in particular web communication; interest in the cultural and non-profit sectors will be appreciated,
The successful candidate will contribute actively to the deployment of information and communication programs at UCL Mons (recruitment, tutoring programs, and teaching program evaluation).

Tasks: The applicant will
be responsible for teaching courses at all the study levels (i.e. undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate), as well as in programmes of continuing education;
supervise the final diploma work (i.e. master thesis) of undergraduate students, as well as PhD theses;
be involved in (and/or supervise, promote) research programmes;
contribute to the international visibility of the University through teaching and research excellence;
contribute to activities of the University with a societal impact in the fields of the economy, socio-cultural changes or cooperation with developing countries.
Qualifications: the applicant must have
a PhD degree in Communication Sciences or equivalent qualifications;
a significant scientific record proven by international publications;
either studied abroad for an extensive period or had substantial experience outside UCL;
experience in and aptitude for teaching at university level;
the capacity to work within a team of teachers and to integrate research findings in their courses;
creativity and must be open to pedagogic innovation and interdisciplinarity;
the capacities required to undertake academic research at a high level and to advise, or lead, a research team;
a good knowledge of both spoken and written French. If this is not the case, the applicant should be willing to learn French within 2 years. Fluency in English and other languages is an additional advantage;
the capacity to teach in French and in a second language.

L’Université catholique de Louvain recherche un(e) spécialiste à temps plein en Communication (communication organisationnelle – communication web)

Le/La titulaire du poste développera des recherches en communication organisationnelle au sein du Centre de recherches en communication (RECOM) inscrit dans l’Institut Langage et Communication (IL&C) qui favorise les synergies entre les sciences de la communication et les sciences du langage. Plus particulièrement, le/la titulaire du poste montrera une expertise probante dans l’analyse de l’évolution des communications en relation avec les technologies Web.
 
Il/Elle assurera, tant en jour qu’en horaire décalé, des enseignements de base (Bachelier) et avancés (Master) dans le domaine de la communication Web principalement sur le site de Mons, ainsi que sur le site de Louvain-La-Neuve.
Le/La titulaire du poste assurera des enseignements dans ces domaines au sein des divers cycles d’études gérés par la Faculté.
Qualifications/aptitudes particulières (autres que celles mentionnées dans les conditions générales ci-dessous) :
Le candidat retenu développera une expertise de recherche dans le domaine de la communication des organisations, en particulier la communication web ; une affinité pour le secteur non-marchand et culturel est un atout.
Le candidat retenu contribuera de manière active au déploiement (recrutement, promotion de la réussite et évaluation des programmes) de la filière information et communication au sein de l’UCL Mons.

Qualifications
Etre titulaire d’un diplôme de doctorat en Information & Communication (ou qualifications équivalentes);
faire état d’une expérience scientifique reconnue par des publications de niveau international
faire état d’un séjour d’étude prolongé à l’étranger ou d’une expérience significative acquise hors de l’UCL
faire état d’une expérience et d’aptitudes en matière d’enseignement universitaire
être capable de travailler en équipe d’enseignants et d’intégrer des résultats de recherches dans ses enseignements
être créatif et ouvert à l’innovation pédagogique et à l’interdisciplinarité
avoir les qualifications pour mener des recherches scientifiques de haut niveau et animer, voire diriger, une équipe de chercheurs
posséder la maîtrise de la langue française parlée et écrite, ou s’engager à l’acquérir dans les deux années qui suivent la prise de fonction, la connaissance de l’anglais et d’autres langues constituant un atout supplémentaire
être capable d’enseigner en français, et dans une autre langue.
